Fighter Fling 1993
Rebuilds of the legacy F-14A and F-14B Tomcats into the more advanced F-14Ds continued in 1993, but the vast majority of the Fleet Defenders were still powered by the original Pratt & Whitney TF-30 engines. Six Tomcats (four F-14As and two F-14Bs) were lost during 1993. Also during 1993 we said goodbye to disestablished squadrons VF-1 Wolfpack, VF-33 Starfighters, and VF-114 Aardvarks.
