Fly West, Baby Boeing: Retirement of a 737 Classic

LIT –> DAL –> TUS

After her departure, she traveled to Dallas for preparation.  With her Southwest titles painted over, she departed for her final flight to Arizona.  Our friends from Boneyard Safari captured her arrival in Arizona.  While not every retirement is a party, no bird deserves to fly away without capturing her final journey. N524SW will be joined by her other -500s soon.  By the end of September all Boeing 737-500s will be retired from Southwest’s fleet.

N524SW arrives at Tuscon. With a short fuselage, the 737-500 looks remarkably similar in size and profile (with the exception of the engines) to the jurassic-classic -200s.
